Marcia Huber is a self taught artist
who began her interest in art at the
early age of five with a passion for
coloring books and paint-by-numbers.
With an obvious natural talent and
encouragement from family and friends
Marcia began to watch TV art instruction
classes. Her art education grew
from that and even today her love of
color infuses into all of her work.
"Painting for me is daydreaming,
meditation and mood altering. Each
piece generally sprouts from a color
which forms into an object. From
the object, the style emerges."
In the mid-sixties she was drawn to San Francisco and enveloped herself in the
emerging culture and rock music. This experience became a lifestyle and
was borne into her art.
Marcia moved to the Pacific Northwest
in 1970, for 33 years lived in Woodinville with
her husband Larry, also an accomplished artist.
They have now relocated to Bow Washington, near La
Conner. She continues to paint and her works
can be seen in several galleries in the Puget
Sound area of Washington State and at her home
studio in Bow.
Swirling,
vivid colored abstracts and very detailed
mosaic-looking paintings differentiates her from
many other artist and has become a trademark of
her art style which she terms "Intuitive Art".
The
incredible detail of her paintings must be seen to
be appreciated.
